宝老橙 B. x buttiana ‘Baolao Cheng’

Mr. Mo, a bougainvillea amateur in Lipu County, Guangxi Province, China, discovered, separated and cultivated the mutant variety in his bougainvillea garden in 2006, and the new mutant variety was named by Mr. szhualao.

In 2013, Mr. Sun, a owner of a bougainvillea nursery in Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, China, did the same things in his bougainvillea plantation.

Erect habit, vigorous growth. Thorns short, slightly curved. New stems copper. Leaf blade ovate, round bottom, acute apex, glabrous, green. Bracts larger, broad ovate, heart-shaped bottom, obtuse apex. New bracts bright orange, old bracts pink. Flower-tubes deep orange and contraction in the middle. True-flower cream-white, obviously. Perpetual flowering, blooming densely at the top of the branches. The rest of the habit is the same as B. x buttiana ‘Mrs. Butt’.
